Donald Lee Bieker

December 5, 1939 — October 18, 2012

Donald Lee Bieker was born December 5, 1939 in Sheridan County, Kansas to Clem and Pauline (Mader) Bieker. He passed away Thursday evening, October 18, 2012 at the Sheridan County Health Complex at the age of 72. Don was united in marriage to Carol Jean Spresser on April 25, 1962 at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Hoxie. They were blessed with five children; Susan, Gary, David, James and Roger. Don worked as a welder for Arnold Electric and a grain elevator operator for Cooper Grain in Hoxie. In his younger days, Don enjoyed taking his children hunting and fishing, especially those rabbit hunts. He would also do a little coon hunting and worked with his horses. Later in life Don loved the time he had with his grandchildren. He was a member of the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Left to mourn his passing include his wife Carol Jean of the home; daughter, Susan Horn and friend David Janes of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, four sons, Gary Bieker of Hays, David Bieker and wife Mary Beth of Aurora, Colorado, James Bieker and wife Mindy of Hill City and Roger Bieker and wife Jody of Seneca, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Nichole and Ashley Horn, Abigail and Katelyn Bieker, Grace and Gretchen Bieker, and Emma, Max and Jack Bieker; brother, Julius Bieker and wife Wilma of Hoxie. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Pauline; brothers, Alvin and Frank Bieker; sisters, Betty Johnson and Mary Ann Bieker; and granddaughter, Isabelle Bieker. God doesn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, no sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. Don will forever be cherished. Reception: St. Frances Cabrini Church Fellowship Hall
