Donald Robert “Don” Amos passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kansas at the age of 66. He was born on December 9, 1948 in Hays, Kansas to Robert Clark and Doralynn (Collins) Amos. Don grew up in Plainville, Kansas and graduated from Plainville High School with the Class of 1966. He went on to attend Friends University of Wichita and Fort Hays State University of Hays. He was united in marriage to Cris Joswick, they later divorced. Together they had one son, Matthew Robert Amos. Don worked as a truck driver and also worked for KN Energy in Plainville as a Service Technician. He enjoyed being outside. Whether he was working or playing, hunting or fishing, the great outdoors was his favorite place to be. Don is survived by his step-son Damian Joswick; sister Lynn Carmichael and husband Wayne of Plainville; nephew Doug Carmichael and wife Andrea of Plainville; nieces Pamela Vonfeldt and husband Alan of Morgan, UT, and Jana Nyland and husband Rick of Phillipsburg; grandnieces Katie and Jessie Carmichael, and Leah Nyland; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Doralynn Amos, and his son Matthew Robert “Matt” Amos. For Don, just getting by was not enough. He embraced the sunshine, freedom, and the world around him, for it was through nature that he found peace. He will be greatly missed, for now he rests forever in the peace of God which passes all understanding, until we see him again. Reception: Plainville United Methodist Church
