Dennis Roy Miller

July 28, 1947 — May 21, 2022

Dennis Roy Miller passed away on May 21, 2022 at the age of 74 at his home in Wilson, Kansas. He was born on July 28, 1947 in Goodland, Kansas to Ralph and Gladys (Cloyd) Miller. Dennis was united in marriage to Anita (Buerkle) in Friend, Kansas on June 7, 1964. The couple was blessed with four children: Tammy, Pam, Terry and Garry. Dennis grew up in Sharon Springs, Kansas and later moved to several other locations such as Marionthal, Friend, and other towns until 1978 when he moved to Wilson and made it home. Dennis farmed, worked for Wilson grain elevator and later Beaver Grain before retiring in 2013; he also owned The Chicken Coop bar for a period of time. Dennis loved his farm, checking cattle, and you could always expect an infamous dirty joke. His ability to make other’s laugh and the love of his family and friends will be cherished in the hearts of all that knew him. He is survived by his wife Anita of the home in Wilson; children, Tammy Miller of Russell, KS, Pam (Bobby) Funk of Huntsville, AL, Terry Miller of Beaver, KS, Garry (Kylene) Miller of Ellsworth, KS; siblings, Kenny (Patsy) Miller of Sharon Springs, KS, Jan (Delbert) Miller of Sharon Springs, KS; seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Gladys Miller; and sister, Kandis Scott. Private Family Services have been chosen. Memorials are suggested to the Dennis Miller Memorial Fund to be designated by the family at a later time and may be sent in care of Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, PO BOX 533, Wilson, KS 67490.
