Denice Marie Craft

July 9, 1960 — March 22, 2014

Denice Marie Craft, age 53, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, at AMG Specialty Hospital, in Wichita, KS. She was born July 9, 1960, to Joseph Albert Craft and Elma Louise (Miller) Craft in Hoxie, Kansas. Denice lived all her life in Hoxie, Kansas and graduated from the Hoxie High School with the class of 1979. After graduation, Denice worked at a variety of jobs. For a short time, she worked at the Sheridan Inn as a cook. She worked for 14 years for the Sheridan County Health Complex in the kitchen and then, the laundry. Dencie even drove a truck for 6 months. It was evident she was a hard worker and was not afraid to try anything. One Of Dencie’s greatest joys in life were her nieces and nephews. Even though she did not have children of her own, her nieces and nephews were like her children. She was their second mother. As a young adult, Denice attended the Hoxie Christian Church. She also attended Youth for Christ. Both provided her with great joy. Left to cherish Denice’s memory is her father, Joseph Albert Craft; and sisters, Felicia (David) Fowler of Hamilton, KS and Patricia Nelson of Hoxie. She was preceded in death by her mother Elma Louise Craft. Denice loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a hardworking, happy person, who loved trying new things. Her spirit was a great influence for her family and friends, especially her beloved nieces and nephews. Denice’s spirit will forever be with those she loved so dearly. She will always be loved and missed by all.
