Remembering… Curtis Neal “Frankie” Franklin passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 56. He was born on December 7, 1957 to Calvin Nealy and Bertie Era (Meeks) Franklin in Denver, Colorado. Curtis was united in marriage to Linnea Cooper on July 22, 1983 in Stockton, Kansas. They were blessed with two children, son Jared and daughter Jamie. He earned his living as an over-the-road trucker. He loved music and enjoyed playing his bass guitar for any occasion. When he wasn’t busy working or playing, you could often find him hunting, fishing, or relaxing with a good game of cards. Curtis is survived by his wife Linnea of the home; son, Jared Franklin of Palestine, IL; daughter, Jamie Franklin of Stockton; six siblings, Jodean McComb of Wheat Ridge, CO, Ronnie Franklin of Kensington, Linda Kay Edington of Grape Vine, TX, Rayford Franklin and wife Theresa of Belleville, Marcene Machucha and husband Billy of Fort Worth, TX and Larry Franklin of Wheat Ridge, CO; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Bertie; and brothers-in-law, Alan McComb and Robert Edington. Curtis was a hard working, fun loving man. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
