Charles William “Chuck” Dick, 49, of Zurich, KS, passed away on January 14, 2025, at his home. He was born on February 19, 1975, to Dennis and Peggy (Gibson) Dick in Smith Center, KS. He married Stephanie Stephenson on April 19, 2004.
Chuck graduated from Smith Center High School in 1992 and spent his entire life working in the oil field. He was a man who would do anything for the people he loved, and his affection was always accompanied by teasing and jokes. Beneath his playful demeanor was a heart so full of love.
He was an avid fisherman and a talented woodworker, creating beautiful projects with his hands. Though he had many passions, the love he had for his family surpassed them all. He worked hard his entire life and was a role model to his children, nieces, and nephews, who looked up to him with admiration.
Chuck will be remembered and cherished as an amazing father, husband, brother, and uncle. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and there will never be anyone quite like him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
Chuck is survived by his parents, Dennis and Peggy of Smith Center; wife, Stephanie of the home in Zurich; daughter, Madilyn Gilliam of Gresham, OR; chosen son, Traxton Higdon of Zurich; sister, Charlotte Dick of Plainville, KS; brother, Calvin Dick of Plainville; nieces, Sarah Perez, Reyna Perez, Abigail Dick, Grace Fraze, Madison and Emma Miller; nephew, Malyn Dick; and great-nieces, Everleigh and Winter Spencer.
A private family Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
In memory of Chuck, memorial donations are kindly requested to help cover funeral expenses and may be sent to Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 320 SW 2nd St, Plainville, KS 67663.
