Cecelia A.
Anissy
Nov 28, 1948 — Jul 4, 2026
Cecelia Anette (Post) Anissy, 77, formerly of Plainville, Kansas, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
She was born on November 28, 1948, in Russell, Kansas, to Doyle and Lauretta (Weldon) Post. She married the love of her life, Nasser Anissy, on August 17, 1968, in Plainville, Kansas. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Tirazheh and Tanya.
Cecelia grew up in Woodston and Plainville and graduated from Plainville High School. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree in education and library science. Throughout her life, she embraced a variety of careers, each reflecting her intelligence, dedication, and strong work ethic. She worked as a substitute teacher and bookkeeper and pursued studies to become a Certified Public Accountant before choosing to help her husband operate the family printing business. There, she managed the front office and enjoyed working alongside him. Later, she worked in the fabric department at Walmart before finishing her career in medical records for an ophthalmology practice, where she served faithfully for many years.
Cecelia was a talented seamstress and quilter whose creativity blessed her family and community. She lovingly made her own wedding dress, designed beautiful prom dresses for her daughters, and created unforgettable Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. Her award-winning quilts reflected both her remarkable craftsmanship and artistic eye.
She also had a deep love for genealogy and spent countless hours researching her family's history. One of her favorite adventures was a memorable road trip with her brother, tracing their family's roots. Cecelia was an avid reader, an exceptional cook, and found great joy in caring for those she loved through the meals she prepared and the gifts she created by hand.
Above all, Cecelia cherished her family. Her kindness, generosity, creativity, and quiet strength will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Cecelia is survived by her children, Tirazheh “T.J.” Anissy of Denver, CO and Tanya Anissy (Kyle) Dunn of Kansas City, MO; siblings, Gary Post of Wichita, KS and Linda (Chuck) Gardner of Plainville, KS; four grandchildren, Ethan Anissy, Kian Lamer, Kylar Lamer, Sage (Michelle) WolfeZogg; and great-great grandchild, Elian WolfeZogg.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents; her brother-in-law, Jack Gilbert; and her nephew, Darren Gilbert.
Service times will be announced soon.
Memorials are suggested to Kansas City Hospice and may be sent to Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 320 SW 2nd St, Plainville, KS 67663.
