Carlos Israel Gallaway

January 14, 1991 — August 24, 2019

Carlos Israel Gallaway, 28 years old passed away on August 24, 2019 in Ellis, Kansas. Carlos was born on January 14, 1991 in Santo Domingo, Ecuador. In September 1999 Carlos and Diego flew into Kansas City to begin a new life in Kansas with Ron, Gail, and brothers, Aaron and Andrew, and sisters, Andrea and Alissa. Carlos was a young boy full of energy with dark curly hair and a contagious smile. He and Diego added a new adventure to our family. He quickly learned English and adapted quickly to his new family. We have many good memories with Carlos, the trips to Oregon to meet grandparents and other family members teaching him about this new land by exploring the Oregon coast. In the spring of 2003 Carlos realized his need for a savior and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He was later baptized at North Oak Community Church. He was involved in Teens for Christ during Junior High and High School. Carlos loved athletic sports. His speed and athletic coordination helped him to excel in a variety of sports, but wrestling was his favorite. He wrestled at the State level several years. He not only enjoyed competing but loved to watch sports and cheer on the Oregon Ducks, and the Seattle Sea Hawks. Carlos loved to fish and sometimes he would take a camp stove with him so he could cook and eat his catch before returning home. We will all miss his smile and wit, but we celebrate his passing on to his heavenly home with Jesus and his brother, Diego. Carlos is survived by his parents, Ron and Gail Gallaway of Stockton; brothers, Aaron Gallaway and fiancé Kayla Tonne of Hillsboro and Andrew Gallaway and wife April of Ranier, Oregon; sisters, Andrea Cheveallier and husband Christian of Newberg, Oregon, and Alissa Mauk and husband David of Lindsborg; grandfather, LeRoy (Bud) Rodman of Stockton; and numerous other relatives. Carlos is preceded in death by his brother Diego Gallaway; grandparents, Irene Rodman and Paul and Evelyn Gallaway; and sister-in-law Brittney Gallaway. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 1:00 P.M. at the Main Street Christian Church in Stockton. There will be a book signing at the funeral home on from 10 A.M. until 5 P.M on Friday. A private family inurnment will be held at the Stockton Cemetery.
