Bethel Nadine (Bartlett) Maddox passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas at the age of 84. She was born on November 8, 1930 in Rural Rooks County, Kansas to Leonard and Maude (Fisk) Bartlett. On September 29, 1953 she was united in marriage to Robert Maddox in Stockton, Kansas. To this union were born six children. A member of the Red Line Church of God near Palco, Kansas, Bethel was a woman of deep love and devotion to God, family, and friends. She was a great mother and delighted in her kids and grandkids alike. Later in life she enjoyed when people came to visit and was always an encouragement to those around her. Bethel is survived by her sons Alan Maddox and wife Theresa of Garden City, Doug Maddox and wife Susan of Conway, AR, Mark Maddox of Plainville, Brent Maddox of Palm Springs, CA, and Shane Maddox and wife Stephanie of Zurich; sister Carol McCall of Odebolt, IA; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Maude Bartlett, husband Robert Maddox, sisters Wilma Maude Bartlett and Jeanine Richardson, and infant daughter Brenda Nadine Maddox. Bethel enjoyed the springtime, being outside, and tending her flower gardens. She not only tenderly cared for her roses, but more importantly she sowed the seeds of love and laughter into the lives of those closest to her. Although we will miss her greatly, we rejoice that she is now reaping the bountiful harvest of her hard work and loving labor, in the company of her Lord, until we see her again.
