Archie Dean Moss

Archie Dean Moss passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at his home in Hoxie at the age of 82. He was born May 17, 1931 to John Hubert and Margaret (Loy) Moss in Hoxie. Archie attended school in Hoxie and graduated from Sheridan Community High School with the class of 1950. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Neal on July 1, 1951 in Hoxie. They were blessed with four children, Sheila, Rick, Don and Pam. Archie and JoAnn spent many years together raising their family on the farm. She preceded him in death on April 21, 1999. On June 3rd of 2005, he married Janet (Bird) Kaba. Archie loved his family and enjoyed playing games with his grandchildren, especially the games with his thimble. He had a great collection of older cars. Archie was a faithful member and Deacon of the Hoxie Christian Church. He is survived by his wife Janet; sons, Rick and wife Audrey and Don and Diahn all of Hoxie; daughters, Sheila Krannawitter and husband Richard of Colby and Pam Erwin and husband Jim of Hoxie; step sons, Doug Kaba and wife Jana of Paso Robles, California and Steve Kaba and wife Debby of Paxico; step-daughter, Wilinda Harmon and husband Greg of Fairview, Oklahoma; sister, Ruth Hartman of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandchildren, Aaron Krannawitter, Tara Woofter, Kim Shea, Mick Moss, Joe Moss, Josh Moss, Jeremiah Moss, Kevin Moss, Kayla Moss, Tim Erwin, and Amber Erwin; step-grandchildren, Rhys Kaba, Taylor Kaba, Clayton Kaba, Kami Kaba, Erick Schmidt, Brendan Schmidt, & Cale Harmon; and twelve great-grandchildren. Archie was preceded in death by his first wife JoAnn; parents, John and Margaret; grandson, Jordan Erwin; brothers, James, Robert, Charles, Ralph, and Ray Moss; sisters, Mary Collins, Bertha Johnson, Goldie Watkins, and Juanita Cooper. Archie lived the life of a Deacon beyond the four walls of the church. He had a true servant’s heart, and was a man of character and respect. His memories will always serve as an inspiration to all who knew him.
