Francis “Allan” Rolo passed away Friday, January 01, 2016 at the Graham County Hospital in Hill City, Kansas at the age of 91. He was born on August 10, 1924 in Coldwater, Kansas to the late Francis Andrew and Mary Catherine (Bowman) Rolo. He grew up on the farm and served in the United States Army during WWII. On March 6, 1946 Allan was united in marriage to Ruth Marie Watkins in Waco, Texas. They were blessed with three sons, Kenneth, Les, and Lloyd. Together they loved traveling with their camper to Texas, Arizona, Wyoming, or any other place that tickled their fancy, especially if there was a casino to be found close by. He worked in the oilfield and most of that time as a pumper. He enjoyed fishing, being outside, and spending time with friends and family. Allan is survived by his sons Kenneth Rolo and wife Mary of Granbury, TX, Les Rolo and wife Ellen of Iuka, and Lloyd Rolo and wife Sue of Grand Island, NE; brothers Larry Rolo and wife Brenda of Colorado City, TX, Barry Rolo and wife Eileen of Lubbock, TX, and Art Rolo and wife Sharon of Plainville; sister Louise Meyer of Larned; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Mary Rolo, wife Ruth Rolo, brothers Keith, Kenneth, Bryce, and Wilbur Rolo, an infant sister Mary Ann Rolo, and a brother-in-law Dale Meyer. The Psalmist David reminds us, “Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” As Allan enters his new home, he will be greatly missed, but we rejoice until the day we see him again, in that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Nazarene Church in Plainville. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
