Acetin Matthew Benedick

Acetin Matthew Benedick passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 16. Acetin was born on February 28, 1997 to Wayne Benedick and Tory Benedick (Fisher). Acetin was a student at Plainville High School. He was an avid sports fan, a member of 4-H and FFA, and was a country boy and outdoorsman at heart. He loved animals and especially enjoyed showing them. He lived life to the fullest and always had something going on. Left to cherish Acetin’s memory are his parents, Wayne Benedick and wife Dionne of LaCygne, and Tory Benedick and Josh Ferland of Zurich; grandparents, Earl Ray and Janice Benedick of Plainville, Don and Jeanie Mason of Gardner, Dennis and Bunny Higgins of Leawood, and Connie Fisher of Bland, Missouri; great-grandparents, Ann Schmidt of Hays, Carol Ann Higgins of Osage City, Kansas, and Georgine Fisher of Palco; brothers, Jesse Mackey and Bradyn McDowell of Zurich, Dodge and Levi Paul Benedick of LaCygne; sisters, Brynlee McDowell of Zurich, Keelea and Mercedes Benedick of LaCygne; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Acetin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gary Fisher. Acetin left us way before we were ready, but he will live forever in our hearts and minds because like the spirit of the wild stallion, he galloped with his lungs, he persevered with his heart, and he won with his character.
