Carol Ann Ellett

June 15, 1946 — October 1, 2025

Carol Ann Ellett, of Stockton, Kansas passed away on October 1, 2025, at the Rooks County Hospital in Plainville, Kansas. She was born on June 15, 1946, to Frank and Agnes (Metheny) McCumber in Colorado Spring, Colorado. She was married to Larry Ellett on January 5, 1964 in Divide, Colorado. They were married for 62 years.

Carol grew up in Divide, Colorado, where her deep roots in the community began early. She proudly served as the Teller County Fair Queen and queen of the Ute Trail Stampede Rodeo, graduating from Woodland Park High School.

A dedicated community leader, Carol was a Teller County 4-H leader and treasurer for the fair board. She was also a lifetime member of the Pikes Peak Community Club and generously volunteered with numerous local organizations throughout her life.

Professionally, Carol contributed to local journalism, working many years at the Ute Pass Courier and later co-owning the Teller County Sentinel. She also served as secretary, accountant, and alcohol recovery counselor at the ARK in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. Her creative side shone through as a certified professional picture framer and co-owner of Mountain Foto and Framing, which she operated with her husband, Larry.

In 2018, Carol and Larry moved to Stockton, embracing the peaceful rural life that reminded them of earlier times.

Carol cherished the outdoors and found peace in camping and being surrounded by God’s creation. She loved dancing—especially square dancing—and enjoyed games like cribbage and High 5. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She shared her love of the Lord with others and remained devoted to helping others find spiritual peace until her final days.

Carol's legacy is one of service, faith, and joy in life’s simple pleasures. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Carol is survived by her husband, Larry; daughter and “son”, Kim and Marc of Divide, Colorado; bother, Dan and Connie McCumber of Fountain Hills, Arizona and brother, Bob McCumber of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
